There are 61 million U.S. citizens living with a disability—the largest minority population group. This means that 26% or one in four adults is living with some form of disability. This is a huge population of potential web users who may be excluded due to accessibility issues. 

For Phase2, accessibility isn't just a checkbox, it's a part of how we think and how we approach every project from the very beginning. We've learned a lot from our healthcare, financial services, and public sector clients who require best-in-class, accessible experiences. We’ve developed systems for including accessibility in design and build processes, as well as comprehensive testing for 508 compliance and WCAG best practices. 

Phase2’s accessibility team advises on: 

  • Site navigation and menu interaction 
  • Key interactive elements 
  • Color contrast for all text and interactive elements 
  • Page structure, including headings, logical reading order, form fields, and tags 
  • Audio, video, and graphical user interfaces 
  • Content readability 

Phase2 performs accessibility audits to gauge a website’s baseline inclusivity. Through executing a 225-point process, we evaluate assistive user experiences for those with low vision and blindness, deafness or hearing loss, intellectual disabilities, and motor control disabilities. 

There is no average user; all users have unique needs when engaging with digital products. Language barriers, cultural differences, gender considerations, and physical and cognitive disabilities are all part of the conversation as we design and develop. From the initial strategy to the optimization of a launched product, we seek to provide an exemplary digital experience for everyone.
