A membership organization more than half a million strong, the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society connects hundreds of thousands of bass fishing enthusiasts worldwide through their Bassmaster programming, content, and digital presence. To satisfy their hungry audience, Bassmaster partnered with Phase2 to further engage online spectators with a new digital platform that provided rich interactivity.
Phase2 has partnered with Bassmaster since 2011, initially building a Drupal 6 platform and a native mobile app. Most recently, we relaunched the new Bassmaster.com on Drupal 7. The updated site is an improved showcase for the site’s photos, videos, and advertisements that simultaneously provides a more sophisticated back-end for site builders.
To provide Bassmaster fans with a first-rate user experience, we made simple, visually appealing design a priority. The new Bassmaster.com has bigger images to better showcase the anglers, an updated video platform for a better viewing experience, and larger ad units to highlight its fantastic sponsors. The site is also fully responsive, allowing bass fishing fans to connect with their favorite sport wherever, whenever, and however they want to connect.
After the initial launch, Phase2 rolled out BASSTrakk maps – an interactive mapping application that allowed fans to follow the live progress of competitors in the Bassmaster Classic in March. Combined with updated site features and design, fans were able to take advantage of an enhanced digital viewing experience in time for the sport’s premier event of the season.
