The movement to get to a more "Semantic Web" progressed last weekend. The first VoCamp in the United States, and third ever, was held in Austin this past Saturday and Sunday. What is VoCamp? VoCamp in Austin was about creating vocabularies and talking about anything Semantic Web related.
Although, I didn't make it to the entire VoCamp in Austin, I was thrilled to present OpenPublish and how OpenCalais for Drupal helps to bring semantic technology to publishing. In addition, I was able to participate in some really great conversations about semantic technologies. This was a great follow up to Tom Tague's presentation on OpenCalais a couple weeks ago at the Austin Semantic Web meetup during SxSW Interactive.
If you find yourself in Austin and interested in the Semantic Web, don't hesitate to contact the Austin Semantic Web group. They've got some great ideas and plans for the Semantic Web.
