  • Critical Threats is a project organized by the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research that publishes the latest developments and detailed analysis regarding national security challenges faced by the United States.

AEI envisioned criticalthreats.org as the central hub of several distinct 'child-sites' all of which focus on national security. These 'child-sites' will eventually generate most of the content on CriticalThreats. IranTracker.org is first child-site and has already been implemented.

    What We Did

Content generated on IranTracker.org is streamed to CriticalThreats.org via RSS (FeedAPI) on an ongoing basis. Clicking an item pertaining to Iran on CriticalThreats.org will redirect the user to the IranTracker child-site. This will demonstrate the extensive amount of content on this particular subject - enough to warrant building a separate site.

Phase2 will clone future child-sites after IranTracker in order to speed up their development; then, Phase2 will adjust configuration, and apply a new design or theme. Following a one-time content export from CriticalThreats.org, the new site will launch and begin streaming RSS feeds to criticalthreats.org as well.

In addition to administering the child-site architecture, Phase2 provided graphic design and developed an interactive 'Threat Map' that geographically displays threats on the homepage.
