Calais for Drupal 2.0
Today Phase2 Technology, in association with Thomson Reuters, launched a big update to the set of Calais for Drupal modules. This marks the first of many feature sets to be released through the end of the year and beyond. These releases are intended to be part of a larger toolset for publishers and large content providers using Drupal. These latest updates are largely focused on the end-user and appeal to publishers. We think they will be useful to all Drupal developers, though, as well as those interested in Semantic technology.
We’ve also used this release to respond to feedback, squash the bugs, and apply patches brought to us by the terrific Drupal community. For those of you already familiar with the Open Calais modules, here’s what we did:
- Support for Calais Events & Facts
- GUID Support in Taxonomy Terms. (This sets the stage for linking terms to the Calais GUID when resolvable.)
- Relevance filtering based on Content Type specific thresholds. All Calais terms are returned and associated, but suggestions or auto associations must have a relevence score greater than or equal to the threshold.
- New association setting. This allows you to tweak terms when first creating, and use manual intervention afterwards. This prevents things shifting on a user if they have categorized things to their liking the first time.
- Calais vocabularies in use for a specific Node now float to the top of the list for better usability. Before all vocabs had a set order that was always the same.
- Support for all current Calais Entities out of the box.
- Support for bulk processing of historical content.
- Over 15 defects and usability enhancements In addition there was plenty of other work done under the covers.
- Object Oriented refactoring of the API
- Added the ability to submit via TEXT/HTML or TEXT/XML (the latter enables better relative timeframe processing)
- Extensive unit test suite
- Updated to submit Calais request over the REST Web Services interface instead of HTTP POST.

The release is there.
Hey, just an update, for some reason the actual publishing on our Drupal project page of the 2.0 release is being held up due to a categorization problem. It is here, just click the View all releases link to see it.
Hopefully this will all be resolved shortly.

'New association setting'
'New association setting' seems to be a good option. since you can use manual intervention after tweaking terms when first creating them.
