Phase2 Technology Joins the Liberty Alliance Project
Alexandria, VA - July 15, 2005 - Phase2 Technology ("Phase2") announced today that it has become an associate member of the Liberty Alliance Project. As an active member of this growing organization, Phase2 is joining more than 150 companies, non-profit and government organizations from around the globe, which are committed to developing an open standard for Federated Network Identity that supports all current and emerging network devices.
Earlier this year, Phase2 assisted in the implementation of a Federated Identity deployment with, and for, current alliance members SUN Microsystems and the Business Industry Political Action Committee ("BIPAC"). In partnership with SUN, BIPAC developed a turnkey security solution for its grassroots and Political Action Committee ("PAC") network, The Prosperity Project using the SUN Access Manager product. During this project, Phase2 became one of the first companies to implement a system that uses a Liberty Alliance compliant product to provide authentication and authorization to a live web application.
In joining the Liberty Alliance, Phase2 is among the leaders of industry, who are working to utilize federated identity management. Federated identity management authenticates the user's identity and determines that the appropriate information is provided to the appropriate employee without putting the user's personal information at risk. Federated Identity is expected to be a standard of the future for a wide range of applications where personal information security is critical.
